Volterra is one of the many hill towns for which Toscana (Tuscany) is famous. Volterra itself is famous for its Alabaster products. Alabaster is a soft type of marble suited to carving and has been used since Etruscan times going back to the 8th century B.C. for funerary urns and other containers and decorations. So, we (I) ended up with a backpack full of rocks! We spent a very pleasant day - the sun shone! - exploring the town, churches, duomo and museums. Two days in a row we had lunch outside!

Алебастр м'який вид мармуру підходить для різьблення і був використаний з етруських раз повертаючись до 8 столітті до н.е. на похоронні урни та інші ємності і прикраси. Таким чином, ми (я) закінчив із рюкзаком, повним порід! Ми провели дуже приємний день - сонце! - Вивчення міста, церкви, Кафедрального собору і музеїв. Два дні поспіль ми обідали на вулиці!
Volterra es uno de los muchos pueblos de la colina que Toscana (Toscana) es famoso. Volterra sí es famosa por sus productos de alabastro. El alabastro es un tipo suave de mármol adaptado a talla y se ha utilizado desde la época etrusca que se remonta al siglo 8 aC de urnas funerarias y otros recipientes y adornos. Por lo tanto, nosotros (I) terminó con una mochila llena de piedras! Pasamos un día muy agradable - el sol brillaba! - Explorar la ciudad, las iglesias, la catedral y los museos. Dos días seguidos tuvimos un almuerzo al aire libre!
Hi guys, one can always add to ones rock collection...so we fully understand. Really glad the sun has emerged, but look out for scooters as they have been known to drive through dining patios.
