2012.04.18 Wednesday Sorrento - Positano - Amalfi

Sunshine today!  We are off to the famous coast highway going from Sorrento to Positano to Amalfi.  After breakfast, we hurry to the bus station and pick up our tickets.  The road is about 1.5 lanes wide and yet somehow the buses manage to pass each other, pulling to the side every few hundred metres.  This is no place to rent a standard shift car, or even an automatic for that matter.  This stretch of road is what you see in all the movies set in Italy.  As a matter of fact they were shooting a movie as we got closer to Positano.  There was a helicopter with cameras mounted in front and trailers, sound equipment, movie cameras, plenty of Carabinieri and a blond laid out in the back of a convertible.  We could not tell if she was real or a mannequin.  The scenery is really breathtaking!  Not only does the road hug the cliffs (with at least a 200 metre drop, but the houses are literally hanging off the cliffs.  We got off at Positano, walked around, ate a picnic lunch and headed on to Amalfi. We had to stand all the way to Amalfi, it was like being at the back of an articulated bus on the 417 in winter, swaying back and forth.  In Amalfi, we did the obligatory tour and had a scenic cappuccino.  Fortunately we had seats on the way back.

Once we returned to Sorrento, Gail had us off on more sightseeing - this time sans rain!

Sunshine hoy! Estamos fuera de la carretera que va de la famosa costa de Sorrento a Positano a Amalfi. Después del desayuno, nos damos prisa a la estación de autobuses y recoger los billetes. El camino es de aproximadamente 1,5 carriles de ancho y, sin embargo los autobuses logran pasar uno al otro, tirando a un lado cada pocos cientos de metros. Este no es lugar para alquilar un coche normal de los turnos, o incluso un sistema automático para el caso. Este tramo de carretera es lo que se ve en todas las películas ambientadas en Italia. Como cuestión de hecho, estaban rodando una película mientras nos acercábamos a Positano. Había un helicóptero con cámaras montadas en el frente y remolques, equipos de sonido, cámaras de cine, un montón de carabineros y una rubia se establece en la parte de atrás de un descapotable. No podría decir si fue real o un maniquí. El paisaje es realmente impresionante! No sólo el abrazo camino de los acantilados (con al menos una caída de 200 metros, pero las casas son, literalmente, colgando de los acantilados. Nos bajamos en Positano, dio la vuelta, se comió un almuerzo al aire libre y se dirigió a Amalfi. Hemos tenido que soportar hasta llegar a Amalfi, era como estar en la parte trasera de un autobús articulado, en el 417 en invierno, balanceándose hacia adelante y hacia atrás. en Amalfi, nos hizo el tour obligatorio y tenía un capuchino escénica. por suerte teníamos puestos en el camino de regreso .

Una vez que regresamos a Sorrento, Gail nos tenía de descuento en más lugares de interés - esta lluvia sans tiempo!

Насправді вони знімали кіно, як ми стали ближче до Позітано. Був вертоліт з камер, встановлених в передній і причепів, звукове обладнання, кінокамери, багато карабінерів і блондин, викладені в задній частині купе. Ми не можемо сказати, чи була вона реальною чи манекен. Пейзаж дійсно захоплює дух! Не тільки дороги обійми скель (принаймні на 200-метрової висоти, але і вдома буквально висить у скель. Ми вийшли в Позітано, ходили, їли пікнік і попрямував до Амальфі. Ми повинні були стояти весь шлях до Амальфі, це було як в задній частині зчленованого автобуса на 417 взимку, похитуючись взад і вперед. в Амальфі, ми зробили обов'язковим туру і був мальовничий капучино. на щастя, у нас були місця на зворотному шляху .

Після того як ми повернулися в Сорренто, Гейл був на нас з більш екскурсія - на цей раз без дощу!
