2012.04.19 Thursday - Sorrento To Florence

Ready to get our train, the first thing we saw at the front desk of our hotel, was a sign saying "Train Strike"!  Fortunately, it was for Friday!  The trip to Florence, is a two part trip - one is on the LRT (Light Rail) which goes from Sorrento to Napoli, and then you catch another train to Firenza.  The first part, was frustrating in that for some reason, it left a half hour late.  This was somewhat offset by a group of we guessed 14 year old British school girls who were very entertaining.  Have I mentioned that we have had rain?  Well, the girls were off to see Pompei, and they decided to pray for sunshine.  As it happened, as soon as they finished praying, the sun came out and everyone in the car clapped!  One was then quoted as saying "With great power comes great responsibility".  Another phrase that was heard was "There is nothing that cannot be controlled with sedatives and straight jackets".



Once we got to Napoli, we bought our tickets and hopped on the EuroStar TrenItalia to Firenza.  Once here, we got to our hotel the Palazzo Galletti, which does not have a lift!  It is one the hazards of booking your own hotels and working off a checklist in your mind.  Next time, the checklist will be on paper.  As the name of the hotel indicates, it is indeed a Palazzo or Palace.  Our room is fabulous and has a vaulted ceiling with some 16th century frescos that were uncovered during renovations.

We went for a short walk before dinner to orient ourselves, then came back to our hotel cleaned up and went for dinner, virtually across the street to the "Cantina Barbagianni" where the food was absolutely fabulous.  The only downside was the downslide - the chairs sloped forward and you felt you were going to slide out of the chairs.

Один з них був потім цитує "з великою силою приходить велика відповідальність». Інша фраза, яку було чутно було "Існує нічого, що не може управлятися за допомогою седативних засобів і прямі жакети".

Як тільки ми добралися до Неаполя, ми купили квитки і стрибав на EuroStar Trenitalia в Firenza. Одного разу тут, ми дісталися до нашого готелю Palazzo Galletti, які не мають ліфта! Це одна небезпека бронюванні готелів власних і відпрацювання переліку у вашому розумі. Наступного разу, цей список буде на папері. Як випливає з назви готелю вказує, що це дійсно палац чи палац. Наша кімната казковим і має склепистий стелю з деякими шістнадцятого століття фресками, які були виявлені під час ремонтних робіт.

Ми пішли на коротку прогулянку перед обідом, щоб зорієнтуватися, а потім повернулися в наш готель очищенню і пішов на обід, практично через дорогу "Кантіна Barbagianni", де їжа була абсолютно фантастичні. Єдиним недоліком було downslide - стільці нахилом вперед, і ви відчували, що ви збираєтеся виїжджати зі стільців.

¿Está listo para el tren, lo primero que vimos en la recepción de nuestro hotel, fue un cartel que dice "huelga de trenes"! Por suerte, era de Viernes! El viaje a Florencia, es un viaje de dos partes - una es en la LRT (Light Rail) que va desde Sorrento a Nápoles, y luego coger otro tren a Firenza. La primera parte, era frustrante que por alguna razón, dejó una media hora de retraso. Esto fue compensado en parte por un grupo de adivinamos 14 años de edad, niñas de la escuela británica que se encontraban muy entretenido. ¿He mencionado que hemos tenido lluvia? Bueno, las chicas fueron a ver a Pompeya, y decidieron orar por el sol. Como sucedió, tan pronto como terminó de orar, el sol salió y aplaudió a todos en el coche! Uno de ellos fue citado a continuación, diciendo: "Un gran poder conlleva una gran responsabilidad". Otra frase que se escuchó fue "No hay nada que no se puede controlar con los sedantes y camisas de fuerza".

Una vez que llegamos a Nápoles, compramos nuestros billetes y nos montamos en el Eurostar a TrenItalia Firenza. Una vez aquí, llegamos a nuestro hotel el Palazzo Galletti, que no dispone de ascensor! Se trata de uno de los peligros de la reserva de sus hoteles propios y trabajar fuera de una lista de verificación en su mente. La próxima vez, la lista estará en el papel. Como el nombre del hotel lo indica, es de hecho un Palacio o Palacio. Nuestra habitación es fabuloso y tiene un techo abovedado con unos frescos del siglo 16 que fueron descubiertas durante las renovaciones.

Fuimos a dar un paseo antes de cenar para orientarnos, y luego regresó al hotel limpiado y fuimos a cenar, prácticamente en la calle a la "barbagianni Cantina", donde la comida era absolutamente fabuloso. El único inconveniente era el camino cuesta abajo - las sillas inclinadas hacia delante y lo que pensaba que iban a deslizarse fuera de las sillas.
