After breakfast, it was off to "Santa Maria delle Gracie" to see "The Last Supper". On the way, I was targeted for pickpocketing. It was the same as before two small oriental girls and a taller oriental woman, one behind and the others blocking the door of the Metro coach. I recognised the situation immediately and just trampled through them. The older woman let forth with what I'm assuming was invective and I politely replied "up yours" and they quickly scurried off the car so as not to attract police attention. When I got to the church, I had to go through 4 chambers to be dehumidified. I am not sure, but I think it is about 20 people that they let in at one time. While we were waiting, I spoke with a couple of Japanese ladies. The one had visited Green Gables some 20 years ago and she hoped to return with her friend within a year or two.
The painting itself is at one end of the former refectory and is anchored on the opposite wall by "The Crucifixion" by Donato from the same era. There is something ethereal about it and with the room being dark, and just the paintings being lit in a subdued manner, one can not but help studying the painting. The 15 minutes went very quickly. By the way, you have to have reservations, months in advance.
Gail left me with her cold, so mostly I spent a very long lunch and dinner in the sunshine in outdoor tratorias.
Un comienzo temprano en el día 0300h o 3 am! Gail regresa a casa hoy, así que aquí estamos, tanto despierto antes de las aves. Gail me dejó con su frío, así que me pasé todo un almuerzo muy largo y la cena en el sol en tratorias al aire libre.

I am impressed with your coping skills. You guys do seem to bounce back in the face of adversity/ pickpockets and early mornings. Too bad about the cold. Wine ids medicinal, as a pharmacist you already know this.
